Carolina Balloonfest

Statesville, North Carolina hosts the regional hot air balloons every year. It is awesome sight to see dozens of balloons getting inflated and launched. The sky will look spectacular. This year we went with Vasu and Vel's families. Unfortunately, it was not a good day for ballooning. Weather was nice at 60 F. But the wind was very heavy, probably 20 mph, and they had to cancel all the launches. But there were other attractions such as several US Army helicopters, rides and fair food that kept the kids busy.

Finally after 6.30 in the evening, just to cheer up the spectators, they fired up a handful of balloons. So overall, it wasn't too bad; turned out to be a fall picnic day with a bit of hot air balloon. Oh well, may be next year we will have better luck.
