Hi shan,

I just stumbled in your blog sometime back, accidentely. pretty interesting, i mean i haven't commented before, however....from mannargudi, to REC and to IBM and now the citezenship...that would haven taken a lot of real hardwork and i'm sure you've made a lot of people happy and proud!!!

All the very best and by the way Srinidhi is very cute...and i'm sure he would learn tamil and would grow up with a lot of values!!!

What's up with Srinidhi recently? Hmm...

His vocabulary vastly increased to several hundred words. He picks up several new words everyday. He talks very well, even people other than his parents can understand easily :-)

He learned to use the mouse very well. He will ask, "Amma, please login computher, I want to play Percy memoeey game". All we have to do is login and start his webpage. He knows how to navigate from there. He knows all the icons, buttons, how to go back, how to close popups etc. He enjoys playing many games on storyplace.org and pbskids.org. He has mastered several games from those sites.

As I mentioned before, he uses his left hand a lot - he seems to be a lefty. When he started using Veena's computer, the mouse was right handed; he was okay with it and that's where he learned to use the mouse. After a while, he moved it to his left hand. So I changed the mouse settings for left hand. He didn't have any problem adjusting to it! He is fluent in using right and left handed mice!

Even though he knows and uses many Tamil words, he mainly speaks in English :-( It is one of our priorities to teach him to speak in Tamil. But we are going to wait for some time for him to adjust to his school first. It may get more difficult as we delay, but there isn't much we can do. Make him understand Tamil must be relatively easy, but to make him speak both, we will just have to try!

Oh, he learned a new game, treasure hunting. He will hide his toy, or ask us to hide and search for it.

We celebrated Krishna Jayanthi (Janmashtami) at Krishnan's place this year. Remembered, last year we went to the Hindu Center for midnight prayer for the same occassion with our friends Chandan and Richa.

இந்த வருடம், கிருஷ்ண ஜெயந்தியை எங்கள் நண்பர் கிருஷ்ணண் வீட்டில் கொண்டாடிணோம். சென்ற வருடம் கிருஷ்ண ஜெயந்திக்கு, நண்பர்கள் சந்தன் சிங், ரிச்சாவுடன் நள்ளிரவு பூஜைக்கு கோவில் சென்றது ஞாபகம் வருகிறது.

They surprised me! 2005 !!

It was to be just another picnic and a boat ride with couple of our friends at one of our favorite lake front parks. It was a hot summer day. It also happened to be my birthday. Since Veena already wished me Happy Birthday, with a home made cake at midnight, I had no reason to suspect. I dropped Veena and Srinidhi at the park and went to the Marina to get the boat. When I reached the park in my boat...

எனது பிறந்த நாளுக்கு முந்தைய இரவு பணிரெண்டு மணிக்கு, வீணா வீட்டிலேயே கேக் செய்து, பிறந்த நாள் வாழ்த்து சொல்லிவிட்டாள். எனவே பிறந்த நாள் அன்று, அவள் பிக்னிக் போகலாம் என்று சொன்ன போது, எனக்கு எந்த சந்தேகமும் வரவில்லை! பார்க்குக்கு சென்ற பின்புதான் தெரிந்தது, வீணா ரகசியமாக எனக்கு பிறந்தநாள் கொண்டாட்டம் ஏற்பாடு செய்திருக்கிறாள் என்று! எனது நண்பர்கள் எல்லாம் ஆஜர்!!



...I was taken aback by surprise! My dear wife, and our friends, had arranged for a surprise birthday picnic for me!!

ரிப்பன் ஒட்டி, பலூன் கட்டி, நல்ல டெக்கரேஷன்.



Ganesh, Mathula, Aditya and Ganesh's dad, Vasu and Prashanthi, Vel Raja, Vinodhini and Roopa, Krishnan, Devi and Srinidhi, Muthu Kumar, Usha, Vikash, Vishnu and Muthu's cobrother were all there. There was decoration, cake, lot of food, and cheer. Everybody had brought great food.

கணேஷ், மாதுளா, ஆதித்யா, கணேஷின் அப்பா, வாசு, பிரசாந்தி, வேல்ராஜா, வினோதினி, ரூபஸ்ரீ, கிருஷ்ணண், தேவி, ஸ்ரீநிதி, முத்துகுமார், உஷா, விகாஷ், விஷ்ணு, முத்துகுமாரின் சகலை அனைவரும் வந்திருந்தனர். எனது நண்பர்கள், கேக் மற்றும் சாப்பாடு கொண்டு வந்திருந்தார்கள்.
